We Close Monday!

i am so excited! blake and i are closing on the cutest cottage tudor home in my childhood neighborhood on monday. this neighborhood holds such a special place in my heart for so many reasons: it is so charming, has so much history (the house is 97 years old!), and of course… memories, like the easter egg hunt, ice cream socials, halloween parades, and outdoor movie nights. it was such an idyllic place to grow up, and we have been looking for the perfect home in this neighborhood for a while, and this one is just perfect.

this process has gone surprisingly smoothly, and since we already sold our house, our boxes are still packed and we're ready to go. even though the process has been smooth, you're always holding your breath that something could happen, which is such a stressful part of home buying. we are thrilled for it to be over and to get it feeling like home over this next year…mostly after the wedding…whew…what a stressful year, that's for sure. i feel like i'm constantly switching gears between wedding and home stuff.

a little tidbit for those of you reading who aren't close with me: we were actually under contract for my childhood home earlier this year, just two streets away. yes, you heard that right! for many reasons, it didn't end up being a good fit for us, but i guess, at the end of the day, it wasn't meant to be. funny enough though, the house across the street from the one we're buying is the same model as my childhood home, so it kind of comes full circle. although i didn't get that exact house, when i look out my window i'll see the house and be reminded of it - just bittersweet.

here are some photos from back when we lived there circa 2006-2016. i'm so nostalgic, lol! many parties, beautiful trees during the fall, homecoming, first days of school…my mom once rented a snow cone truck for my brother's birthday. i loved my room back then; i thought it was so shabby chic. my mom got me ralph lauren valances and i thought that was so fancy.
